The Peasant Table brings rustic Italian to Queen East
/As new storefronts continue to emerge where old favourites once were, The Peasant Table has opened in the Queen East space Table 17 vacated last summer.
The Peasant Table brings old world dishes into a modern setting with a focus on Italian fare. Porcini farro risotto, crab carbonara, wild boar meatballs and 60-day aged black Aberdeen beef scaloppini are a few of the main highlights, while grilled octopus, beef carpaccio, and seared tuna brochette are geared towards sharing.
The exterior received a coat of white paint and the inside space was refreshed with a casual, modern setting The Peasant Table calls an Italian gastropub. A wall divides the main dining room from the bar area seated with high chairs and serving up a selection of cocktails.
The Peasant Table is open for lunch and dinner seven nights a week, plus brunch on weekends, and a three-course, prix-fixe, bring-your-own-wine Sunday dinner for $35.
The Peasant Table is now open at 782 Queen St. E. Visit thepeasanttable.com for more information.
