KASpace opens boutique, gallery and studio in Leslieville

KASpace

Canadian fashion designer Kevin Allwood has opened a self-named storefront on Carlaw Ave., called KASpace.

KASpace is part fashion boutique, part design studio, part gallery and, eventually, will also be home to a café under the same KA brand. According to its website, the idea for the brick-and-mortar concept shop came from the brand's print magazine of the same name, and will foster an environment of culture and creativity as much as commerce and retail.

The Kevin Allwood brand puts transparency, ethical sourcing and organic materials at its core, and is comprised of a women’s ready-to-wear collection, a children’s capsule line, a natural skincare collection and vegan cruelty-free handbags. Under the Kevin Allwood Atelier collection, he creates his couture evening gowns and bespoke menswear, which is made by hand.

The industrial space has been completely overhauled with a striking, minimal design. Massive windows let plenty of natural light into the stark space.

KASpace is now open at 185 Carlaw Ave. Hours are Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visit ka-space.com for more information.
