Heading into its third season, The Leslieville Flea is making a return to its summertime outdoor location on the beautiful sprawling lawns of Ashbridge Estate. What started out as a small setup in the parking lot behind The Duke has evolved into a full-fledged, impeccably curated marketplace for salvaged wares and crafted goods.

Whether you're on a mission to track down that hard-to-find collectible or just want to hang out and enjoy the weekend vibes, The Leslieville Flea is a must-hit to mingle with the east side. Christine Roberts, one half of the duo behind the monthly event (along with Brigid Elmy), says it's all about shopping local, hanging out in your community and enjoying the best of the neighbourhood.

"It isn't just a market, it's a community hub and hot spot where you can come and spend hours looking through amazing one-of-a-kind finds, listening to budding young musical artists sing and perform, and tasting some of the city's best independent food and drink vendors," Roberts says.

The Leslieville Flea's continued growth means an expected 70 to 80 vendors will be showcasing goods on the third Sunday of every month until October. The range on display includes the best in vintage, salvaged, up-cycled goods and handcrafted items, plus food and drink vendors to satisfy taste buds and live music to keep things entertaining.

"Jewelry, handmade bags, paper products and clothing will be on display alongside vintage fashion, reclaimed items, salvage, retro records, collectibles, the best mid century finds around and so so much more," she says. "Indie AleHouse will be  serving up their craft beer made locally in Toronto. We have mini doughnuts made in front of you (with coconut oil so they're practically good for you), Macchina Mobile Cafe with the coolest fire-engine-red coffee truck, and a variety of food vendors and food trucks each month. Plus, just across the street and slightly east is the Leslieville Farmer's Market [at Jonathan Ashbridge Park] so you can get your fill there, too."

Although some vendors make return appearances, Roberts says that new vendors are brought in with each new market to keep things fresh and ensure there is a good mix of products being showcased.

"We continue to have a fantastic selection of vendors but what is new is yoga in the park," she says. "Heather Coates will lead a class that is accessible to anybody. This donation-based, pay-what-you-can class will support the Red Door Shelter located in Leslieville."

The 2015 edition of The Leslieville Flea kicks off on June 21 and runs the third Sunday of every month at Ashbridge Estate at 1444 Queen St. E.
