The Aviary brings sports-themed brewpub to Canary District
/Toronto's Canary District just got a massive new brewpub: The Aviary, a joint project from the folks behind Longslice Brewery and The Dock Ellis, is the first of its kind combining brewery and sports bar in one of the city's newest neighbourhoods.
Just steps from Corktown Common in the Canary District, the 230-seat space features nine big-screen TVs to catch the game, plus pool, foosball and a retro NBA Jam cabinet. The Aviary also has a 130-seat beer garden patio right along the Front Street promenade.
On tap, Longslice Brewery is pouring 10 beers including their classic Hopsta La Vista IPA and Loose Lips Lager, as well as three new brews: Aloha Friday Hibiscus Pale Ale, Slam Dunkel Weizen, and Klondike Clarke Golden Ale. The bar will also feature other guest taps from local breweries and cideries.
Once the brewery is up and running, Longslice will feature an on-site retail shop with growlers, tall cans, short cans, bottles and craft soda pop.
Open weekdays for lunch and weekends for brunch, The Aviary is serving up ballpark-inspired grub with house-made, local ingredients, including favourites off the Dock Ellis menu.
The Aviary is open at 484 Front St. E. Check out aviarybrewpub.com for more.
