Toronto's east end has been stepping up its food and drink game for some time, and to mark that evolution is an elevated showcase of food, drink, music and art.

On May 13 and 14, Silver Spoons is hosting a culinary tour de force in Leslieville, celebrating top chefs, sommeliers and cocktail geniuses in the local area. The inaugural event, which is being helmed by Christiane Tetreault of The VandenBerg House, will feature two days of gourmet food, craft beer, wine and spirits, plus artists and silent auction items from over 60 exhibitors and partners exclusive to the area.

“We’ve collectively worked really hard to create an event where all Torontonians can get a chance to experience new flavours and talents found on the east side” Tetreault says. “Silver Spoons is a unique event to this area and we hope it’s the first of many to come”.

Hosted at event space District 28, Silver Spoons aims to spotlight Toronto's east end experience and flavours. Expect locally produced craft beer, locally crafted artisanal foods, wines with interest in the community and a food market courtesy of Eastside Restaurants. There will also be live musical performances, DJs and interactive digital floor games.

Proceeds from the event are supporting Second Harvest, a Toronto-based non-profit food rescue service. Silver Spoons will be capped off with a silent auction with all proceeds going to Second Harvest.

“We believe so much in the outstanding work Second Harvest does for the community,” Tetreault says. “We’re so proud of all our exhibitors, sponsors, partners and other community donors who have offered their support, wares and services to make this auction the centrepiece of this terrific two-day event”.

The lineup includes artists Todd Monk, Bev Hogue and Ramona Nordal. In addition, Chef & Somm Bespoke Dining will be facilitating gourmet food and wine seminars.
