Mean Bao brings its Asian-inspired buns and dumplings to Queen and Broadview
/Mean Bao has closed up its Leslieville shop and moved a little further west to Queen and Broadview.
Originally located in a steamy (no pun intended) one-storey building near the corner of Queen and Carlaw, the restaurant has set up its local location to 753A Queen St. East, former home to the short-lived Caribbean Sunset restaurant.
Mean Bao continues its focus on the Asian-inspired buns — all for under $6 each — along with dumplings, rice bowls, noodle salads and other dim sum staples.
The fluffy bao sandwiches are stuffed with savoury fillings. From pork belly and braised beef to tofu and enoki mushroom, there are various options and each bao comes topped with a mixture of peanuts, cilantro and black sugar.
Mean Bao’s Riverside location is one of seven locations (some of which are franchises) now operating around Toronto.
