LAN Restaurant brings old Hanoi to Queen East
/Bringing together hand-carved furniture, French architecture, and traditional Vietnamese dishes, LAN Restaurant aims to bring old Hanoi to life in Toronto.
"LAN Restaurant is so much more than just a restaurant," says owner Lan Nguyen. "It's actually more like a piece of art that combines the food passion of my husband, and the biggest dream of my life to bring a real image of beautiful Hanoi city, where I grew up, to Canada where I proudly call my second home,”
Nguyen says LAN offers a healthy, family-friendly menu featuring over 40 dishes that won't break the bank.
Grilled stuffed squid with chilli garlic tomato sauce, Vietnamese shaking beef tenderloin with bell pepper and onion, sugarcane shrimp and crunchy pancake stuffed with shrimp, pork, bean sprouts, mushrooms, served with fish sauce, are just a few of the menu highlights.
"Dishes are flavoured with real ingredients,” adds Lan's husband, Denny, who designed the menu with family recipes he enjoyed in Northern Vietnam. “Fresh herbs and vegetables dominate each plate.”
Kids can choose from pho, noodle soups, or egg fried rice and a spring roll, and on Sundays children under six eat for free.
LAN Restaurant is located at 755 Queen St. E.
