Lambretta Pizzeria brings Roman-style pizza to Leslieville
/One of Leslieville's most well-known heritage buildings has a new tenant at 1192 Queen St E.
Lambretta Pizzeria has brought its brick-oven Roman-style pizzas to Toronto's east end and transformed the space into an unpretentious trattoria to enjoy food and wine in an upbeat environment.
The pizzas — bianca and roma — are topped with interesting, flavourful arrangements with light, crispy crusts. Take the warm prosciutto, honey, figs, mascarpone and grana padano on its signature fig pizza. Others are named after Toronto neighbourhoods, including the Leslieville that gets a layer of pancetta, brie, caramelized apples and onions.
The menu has other Italian favourites including pasta entrees, frittis, salumi and cheese platters, salads and desserts.
The launch in Leslieville is the second location for Lambretta. Its original shop on Roncesvalles Ave. is popular in the west end neighbourhood for its authentic pies that have been listed among the city's best by Toronto Life.
The pizzeria's star attraction is a brick oven that can fire up to temperatures of 900°F and cook pizzas in 90 seconds.
Lambretta has a family friendly atmosphere with a dedicated kids menu — pizza or pasta, drink and gelato for $12.
Lambretta is located at 1192 Queen St. E. Hours are Monday to Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
