I'll Be Seeing You opens on Queen East in Riverside

I'll Be Seeing You

I'll Be Seeing You is the newest addition to the east end bar scene, taking over the former space of the short-lived 747 and PicNic wine bar before it. The once dark and often vacant space has been given new life with a fresh coat of paint and charming décor, courtesy of sisters Natasha and Vanessa Smardenka.

I'll Be Seeing You is filled with an eclectic mix of trendy furniture and accessories, with a wall of mismatched vintage plates forming the room's focal point. A ouija board is set up in front of a velvet chesterfield for patrons to enjoy.

While a glass of pinot will still be on offer, the focus here is a departure from the previous wine bar aesthetic. Carefully curated craft beers and signature cocktails take precedent with weekday drink specials that can be enjoyed with a small menu of appetizers and mini mains — such as wild mushroom on toast, meatballs or mac n’ cheese — designed for sharing.

While the bar will be open in the evenings for the remainder of the year, plans to include a lunch menu are on the horizon for 2016.

I’ll Be Seeing You is now open at 747 Queen St. E. Check out the bar's Facebook page for more info.
