Hangry Catering Co. opens boutique food service
/Quietly opening on Gerrard in the former space of Sully's Sandwich Kitchen, Hangry Catering Co. is a boutique catering service specializing in "creating delicious, consciously crafted food to share at any event."
The startup food outfit serves fresh, made-from-scratch, breakfast and lunch options to satisfy the appetites of local businesses, small events and corporate clients in the downtown core.
"Our menu is quite versatile, but our focus is on quality ingredients and delicious recipes," says Thuyen Nguyen, who oversees day-to-day operations.
The kitchen serves a menu of sandwiches and wraps, salads, grains, vegetables and salads, plus boxed lunches, breakfast platters, pastries and yogurt parfaits.
Along with Nguyen, Hangry Catering Co. was founded by restaurateur Michael Sullivan (who was behind Sully's), chef Eric Rogers, a long-time vet in the catering industry having previously owned and operated Playing with Fire Catering.
"We're very invested in the community," she says. "Our chef Eric Rogers, our driver Andy Woodley, and I all live in the neighbourhood."
Hangry Catering Co. is working with some of the music and photography studios in the neighbourhood such as Imprint Music, Eggplant Productions, Luis Albaquerque Photography, and Chris Nicholls Photography Studio, as well as handling food solutions for bigger players like Cadillac Fairview, Cossette and Citizen Relations.
The company is looking to expand to an everyday online kitchen in the coming weeks. For more information and to check out their menus, visit hangrycateringco.com.
