Wine and cheese is one of life's greatest pairings, and the dynamic duo come together at Good Cheese, which recently opened its doors on Gerrard St. E in East Chinatown.

The self-proclaimed "friendly neighbourhood cheese shop" showcases a lineup of 30 fine cheeses — from Blue de Chèvre to Beemster Classic — that can be taken away or enjoyed with a roster of wines, craft beer and ciders.

"Customers can come in and pick up cheese and bread, mustard, pickles, olive oil, to take home as part of their grocery shopping routine," says Luke Champion of Good Cheese, "but they can also sit down at the bar and get a cheese board and a glass of beer or wine or choose from one of our custom pairings."

For the dairy-averse and vegans, the specialty boutique carries the whole line of local Vegan Stokes cheese and spreads.

The team at the is happy to guide you through its range of cheeses and offer pairing suggestions.

Good Cheese has a tasting room and pantry stocked with fresh breads, mustards and vinegars. They also offer a selection of sandwiches for lunch.

Good Cheese is now open at 614 Gerrard St. E. Check them out online at goodcheese.ca and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for hilarious running commentary, daily musings and, of course, all things cheese.
