Drink your way around town checking out bars you may not normally visit trying beers you've never heard of.

That's the genius idea behind the Craft Beer Passport, a program which recently launched a new app offering a suite of features to help you discover Toronto's best local bars and breweries and giving you access to $2 craft beers.

Once the free app is installed, you purchase virtual stamps that can be used to receive a discount at more than 35 bars and breweries in Toronto. Stamps can be purchased in sets of 3 ($5), 10 ($10) or All ($30). A stamp is redeemable for one 12oz. craft beer for just $2.

Show your passport on the app, get that beer stamped and save cash drinking local. It's a no-brainer for those with a taste of adventure and beer, and as good a reason as any to check out craft-friendly bars in neighbourhoods all over the city.

The variety of participating bars and breweries is impressive and a testament to the city's vibrant beer scene as well as the many flavours of its neighbourhoods.

Participating east end spots pouring discounted beer include Radical Road, Lloyd's On Queen, Farside, Brooklyn Tavern, Left Field Brewery, Hi-Lo, Eastbound Beer, Local 1794, Rorschach Brewery and Morgan's on the Danforth.

The Craft Beer Passport app is free to download on iOS and Android
