Have your say on the three final designs to replace the Leslieville mural
/Three final design proposals have been unveiled to replace the mural of Alexander Muir at the corner of Queen and Jones in Leslieville.
As we reported earlier, the longtime mural is set to be replaced as it's in poor condiition due to peeling paint and the deterioration of the wall itself.
A neighbourhood committee was formed to undertake a consultative process to solicit artwork to replace this signature wall, which is a landmark of Toronto's east side. The aim was to find a design representative of Leslieville's vibrant community. Each artist was provided with a design brief to submit their concept to the committee.
The three designs will be presented for feedback at an open house on Jan. 18 at Parts Gallery at 1142 Queen St. E from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Residents are also encouraged to provide input in an online survey until Jan. 24.
Below are the three finalist proposals the committee is putting forward. Read more about the designs including art descriptions and method and materials for application.
