Suzanne Barr tapped as head chef for Avling Brewery
/Fans of the lost comforts of Saturday Dinette will be happy to know that Suzanne Barr is back in the neighbourhood.
The owner and chef of the beloved diner will helm the kitchen of the soon-to-open Avling Brewery in Leslieville.
Barr is one of the most respected chefs in the city and around the country for her healthy comfort dishes, advocacy work and passion for community.
Aside from Saturday Dinette, she was the inaugural chef-in-residence at the Gladstone Hotel and took up residency at Sand and Pearl Oyster Bar in Prince Edward County.
In 2018, Barr was chosen as a finalist at the Women In Hospitality United symposium in New York City, where she presented The Dinette’s Program, a cooperative training program providing an opportunity to learn, co-create, effective solutions for workplaces, and enhancing business productivity while promoting the next generation of women as industry leaders.
