Some bunny loves you — that's the spirit behind Bunny's, chef Rodney Bowers' new Leslieville bistro.

Taking over the former address of Hey Meatball!, the new spot is intimate and comfortable, homey even, with a moody decor themed around rabbit paintings.

Open morning to evening, Bunny's has a frequently changing menu that offers up locally sourced comfort food.

It's dinner menu offers a trifecta of starter, pasta and main dishes. The restaurant recently featured a flatiron steak with gorgonzola butter and potatoes; gnocchi with beef short rib, tomato and ricotta; and maple-miso-glazed cod with mushrooms and Asian greens.

Bunny's is also getting skin in Leslieville's brunch game with a serious menu of breakfast and lunch items. Smoked brisket hash with fried egg and toast; breakfast tacos with scrambled egg, sausage, guacamole and pickled cabbage; and a legacy sandwich from Hey Meatball's days: The Rodfather — pesto, parmesan, asiago, meatballs and tomato. The brunch menu also has pastries, tartine and Greenhouse cold-pressed juices.

A familiar personality on TV and social media, Bowers earned a name and credibility building celebrated restaurants such as The Rosebud and The Citizen as well as the former Hey Meatball!

Bunny's is now open at 912 Queen St. E. Check out somebunnylovesyou.ca for more info or give them a follow on Instagram @bunnysrestaurant.
