An east end yoga practice is giving new meaning to the term “downward dog.”

Puppy Love Yoga, a new studio operating out of the Redwood Theatre, is pairing yoga and puppies in hopes of adding the soothing effects of pet therapy to exercise.

“A relaxing yoga practice is taken up a notch with puppies nosing their way into your cobra pose. But you won't mind... trust us,” reads the studio’s website. “We provide the puppies, you bring your mat.”

Puppy Love Yoga is offering three one-hour classes on Saturday, Feb. 2, Saturday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 17.

Each session will have adorable furry friends roaming the class to add some much-needed cuteness and bonus stress relief to your routine. The cost is $35, and the event is open to both beginners and avid yoga-goers.

“Most behaviourists believe that early socialization is extremely important for puppies and we're happy to provide that. We believe that playing with puppies is extremely important for people because it's ridiculously fun. You will leave smiling and continue smiling for a long time... like forever.”
