From penny candy to eye candy, the former 7-Eleven on Queen East has been transformed into a new art studio and gallery.

Project Gallery has reimagined the former convenience store as a space for artists and exhibitions.

The new space, in partnership with Hullmark Developments, will host regular hours and an exhibition schedule. It will also encompass a studio for artists represented by the gallery.

Project Gallery Queen will have its public opening Oct. 20 with an inaugural group show featuring artists Erin Loree, Tessar Lo, Ness Lee, Rajni Perera, Kent Monkman, Camille Jodoin-Eng, Dominique Fung and Shellie Zhang.

Located at 1151 Queen St. E, this is Project Gallery's second Leslieville location (the other space is at 1210 Dundas St. E.).

Regular operating hours will start Oct. 24. For more information, visit projectgallery.ca.
