Barbecue options in Leslieville just got juicier with the recent opening of Joe's Smokehouse.

Taking over a separate piece of real estate inside The Duke at Queen and Leslie, the small dine-in/take-out barbecue joint has a clean, simple layout, and a no-nonsense menu that gets straight to the point: you come here for the various smoked and barbecued meats (although they do have three salad options by the way).

Joe's beef ribs and chicken wings look to be the jewels of the menu. Slow smoked for four hours with seasoned hickory hardwood, the ribs come as two bones ($9.75), three bones ($14.75) or a full rack for $24 including fries and coleslaw. The wings are marinated, smoked and finished on the barbecue and there's nine sauces to slather them in (1 lb. for $9.75 or two for $18).

The restaurant also has smoked chicken by the quarter or the half and grills burgers, smoked beef sausage, brisket and chicken sandwiches. The menu offers family meals and platters of meats to try 'em all.

Joe's Smokehouse is now open at 1225 Queen St. East from Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. There's no website available but give them a call at 416-406-6328 for more info.
