Queen’s Head Pub

From Tomi Kro to The East Ender and now The Queen’s Head Pub, a precedent of casualness has been ushered in with each new restaurateur taking over the space at 1214 Queen St. E. On its current course, we might just be in our sweatpants for its next incarnation.

Hailing from the wilds of Scarborough, Queen’s Head is a curious mix of generic sports bar and ye ol’ English-style pub. Exposed brick and British artifacts share wall space with high-def, flat screen TVs that bring in a full house during hockey games.

The menu is predictable with all of the typical pub fare you’d expect. Just open and point. Cheeseburger — check. Wings — check. Poutine — check. What sets it apart is the steady promotions up for grabs. Free lb. of wings on food orders over $40, buy one/get one weekday lunch specials and $12 jugs of Canadian keep regulars coming back. It also has one of the only kitchens open till 2 am this side of the Don Valley.

Signature: $4 Shots: Jameson, Jim Beam, El Jimador, Jagermeister
