With the popularity of craft beer in Ontario hitting a fever pitch, brewers are extending their craft beyond the bottle with label designs that offer craft beer drinkers enticing visual metaphors to complement the flavours found within.
The Art of Craft Beer, a gallery exhibit and silent auction on November 25, shines a spotlight on the best of Ontario’s craft beer labels in a one-night-only event.
The exhibition, staged at Toronto contemporary art gallery Super Wonder Gallery, features 15 pieces from five brewers across the province, with all pieces available via a silent auction benefitting Sketch, a not-for-profit organization engaging street-involved youth through the arts. Unframed prints and other brewery merchandise are also available for purchase at the event.
Along with the artist of each selected craft beer label, The Art of Craft Beer also welcomes five Ontario craft brewers, each onsite to serve their beer, connecting the art to each unique brew. Participating Brewers: Great Lakes Brewery, Bandit Brewery, Sawdust City Brewing Co., Beau's Brewery, and Collective Arts Brewing.
