Kindling Collective is extremely proud to announce, and would like to invite you to their debut production of, Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. This production will not only contain the powerful words of Miller, it will also include portions of text from Maryse Conde’s I, Tituba, Black Witch of Salem, allowing the historical character of Tituba to tell her story and give her perspective on the events of the Salem Witch Trials.
Making her directorial debut is Chelsea Woodard, a recent graduate of George Brown Theatre School. Along with her two George Brown colleagues, Shannon Murphy and Jilly Hanson, these three artists have founded Kindling Collective as a means to dive deeper into classical theatre.
Kindling Collective is dedicated to sparking new flames in old tales. Our goal is to give opportunities for all voices and stories to be told and we believe that classical characters should not be bounded by gender, sexuality, race or size but rather expanded by the diversity we can bring to them. Please join us as we bring this haunting tale to new light with a cast of incredible emerging artists on the Toronto stage.
